This page explains how payments work at Lightoras—what we accept, when you are charged, and what happens if something goes wrong with a transaction. It applies to every order placed on lightoras.com.
Accepted payment methods
We accept three payment methods:
-
Visa (credit and debit cards)
-
MasterCard (credit and debit cards)
-
PayPal
That is the complete list. We do not accept cash on delivery, personal checks, money orders, wire transfers, gift cards, or buy-now-pay-later services. If a checkout page ever offers a payment option not listed here, treat it as an error and contact us before completing the purchase.
Currency and charges
All prices on lightoras are listed in United States dollars. The amount shown at checkout is the full amount you will be charged for the product. Shipping is free, so there is no separate shipping line item. If sales tax applies to your order based on your shipping address, it will be calculated and displayed at checkout before you confirm payment—we do not add tax after the fact.
Your card issuer or PayPal may apply currency conversion fees if your account is held in a different currency. Those fees are set by your provider, not by Lightoras, and we have no way to predict or reimburse them.
When you are charged
Your payment method is authorized when you place the order and captured when the order is processed, which happens within 1–2 business days. You may see a temporary authorization hold on your account immediately after checkout; this is normal and is not a duplicate charge. The hold converts to an actual charge once we begin processing your order. If we are unable to fulfill your order for any reason, the authorization is released and you are not charged.
Payment security
Card details are entered on our checkout page and transmitted directly to our payment processors. Lightoras does not store full card numbers on our servers. PayPal transactions are completed through PayPal's own checkout flow, and your PayPal credentials are never visible to us. If you are ever asked for card details by email, phone, or any channel other than the checkout page, do not provide them—that request is not from us.
Declined payments
If your payment is declined, the order will not be processed. Common reasons include insufficient funds, an expired card, a billing address mismatch, or a block placed by your bank for online purchases. We cannot see the specific reason for a decline; only your bank or PayPal can tell you that. You are welcome to try a different payment method or contact your provider and retry the order.
Failed or reversed payments
If a payment is reversed or disputed after an order has shipped, we will contact you to resolve the matter directly before taking further action. If a chargeback is filed while a return or refund is already in progress, the refund process pauses until the chargeback is resolved, since the same amount cannot be refunded twice through two different channels.
Refunds back to your payment method
Refunds are always issued to the original payment method used for the purchase. A Visa or MasterCard payment is refunded to that same card; a PayPal payment is refunded to that same PayPal account. We cannot redirect a refund to a different card, a different PayPal account, or another person. We process refunds within 1–2 business days after a return arrives at our facility, and your bank or PayPal then needs 7–10 business days to post the funds. The full timeline and conditions are set out in our Return & Refund Policy, and the two pages are intended to be read together.
Order confirmation and records
After checkout you will receive an order confirmation email showing the items purchased, the total charged, and the payment method used (shown in masked form, such as the last four digits of a card). Keep this email—it is the fastest reference if you need to contact us about a charge. If you do not receive a confirmation within a few hours of ordering, check your spam folder, then email info@lightoras.com with the approximate time of purchase.
Questions about a charge
If you see a charge from Lightoras that you do not recognize, email info@lightoras.com before contacting your bank. Charges appear under the Lightoras name on card statements. Most unrecognized charges turn out to be orders placed by a family member or a subscription you forgot about, and we can usually identify the order quickly from the amount and date. If we confirm the charge is not valid, we will refund it.
